GN Nettest LP-5635 Visual Fault Locator
A stable light source that emits a bright red light into a fiber. The light can be seen coming out the far end, and can be seen leaking out of a fiber at the point of a defect or tight bend. Used to locate faults in fiber patch cords and pigtail splices that are within an OTDRﾒs initial ﾓdead zone.ﾔ Also used to check for proper storage of fiber slack in splice storage trays. A good tool for tracing fibers from connector to connector in LAN installations and when you have multiple branches off a single cable.
