Laser Precision DB-2910 Variable Attenuator
The DB-2910 Series attenuators are designed to provide continous attenuation without external AC power or internal battery power. They do this by using a patented mechanical beam-blocker design. The unit is limited only by the sensitivity of the power meter used to measure the induced attenuation in a setup.
Rotate the kob in the lower half of the unit to increase the attenuation. The arrow in the box in the center of the unit indicates the direction of the knob.
There are no batteries to replace or recharge and no serviceable parts. The problems associated with attenuators using step motors and filters over-shooting and under-shooting attenuation values, and signal fluctuation have been eliminated in the DB-2910 Series.
Typical applications are Fiber In The Loop test and Bit Error Rate Test.
