Noyes OLS 3 SM Fiber Optic Source
The Noyes OLS 3 laser source series offers excellent stability and portability for accurate fiber optic testing. The OLS 3 is designed to provide 1300 nm and 1550 nm stabilized output from a single output port. Internal design includes an optical coupler providing the single output as well as extremely stable output power.
This instrument offers CW or 2 kHz modulation (use with the OFI 200 optical fiber identifier). The OLS 3 is powered, in excess of 16 hours from a single 9 volt battery. A "Low Battery" indicator alerts the operator for batteryeplacement.
The Noyes OLS 3 series stable laser source allows practical, inexpensive means for testing long haul or local loop singlemode fiber optic systems. Used with the OPM 1-3 optical power meter, end-to-end attenuation testing is possible on links over 100km in distance. When fiber identification is necessary, the OLS 3 operates as a 2 kHz modulated signal. The OLS 3 also allows WDM and dual window loss measurements from a single port. Wavelength selection is made via the front panel.
